Overview

Years after moving to a remote town, ex-cop Pipa is pulled back into the dark world she thought she'd left behind when a corpse appears on her property.

Meticulously keyed chroma shots worked hand in hand with these digital environments to reinforce the narrative’s tense, isolated setting. Action sequences were enhanced with integrated digital muzzle flashes, impact hits, and realistic gunshots, while phone and television screen replacements provided crisp, naturalistic interfaces complete with live-action reflections to drive key plot points.

Inmediate traction

Upon its release in late July 2022, Recurrence (Pipa) gained immediate traction with global audiences, quickly climbing into Netflix’s Top 10 non-English films worldwide. Viewers responded strongly to Luisana Lopilato’s return as the title character, the film's brisk pacing, and the striking visual backdrop of Northern Argentina. Critics generally received it as an effective, highly watchable popcorn thriller—praising its polished production values and sleek technical execution, even while noting its reliance on familiar police procedural tropes.
